The CHALLENGE
When Essex Med Spa approached us, they told us they had fully established their business on word of mouth but were ready to take the plunge into digital marketing. Although they had always had a website, it failed to generate much traffic and leads. Therefore, Firestarter began putting together an SEO campaign that would not only drive traffic to their site, but also convert those visitors into leads.
Our research revealed the size of the challenge, including:
- Only 400 visitors to the site per month.
- 2 conversions per month on average.
- 0 first page visibility for their marquee keywords such as “Med Spa Littleton” & “Botox.”
In other words, they were not reaching a significant portion of their potential client base. A strong, highly focused strategy was absolutely necessary.

Since Essex Med Spa had not put any focus into SEO when building their website, Firestarter was essentially starting from scratch. Firstly, we identified the core areas of their business. Following this Firestarter pinpointed keywords that had high search volume and intent and began implementing them into their campaign.

Since Essex Med Spa specifically wanted to target potential clients in the Littleton area, Firestarter leveraged a local link-building strategy for Essex in order to boost rankings. This relied on submission to aggregators and directories in order to boost NAP consistency and local listings. Over time, Firestarter helped increase Referring Domains from 3 to 225.
